Outfit Post

Kaftan - present from Mum's wardrobe
Belt - H&M
Leggings - H&M
Heels - Via Spiga (later swapped for a pair of plain black Topshop flats)

What I wore for an intended day of culture, that actually turned into a day of pink cupcake baking, and pink cocktail drinking. Pretty awesome as days go!

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Hurrah. That is my smiley face as I'm trying my best to be cheerful. No, I don't know if I'll still have a job in two weeks time, but yesterday I updated my CV and sent off 10 job applications, so fingers crossed etc.

However the big grin is because I've spent the day downloading all the best pop ever. EVER! And who could fail to be happy when we have Beyonce in the world. Exactly. I've been asked to dj at a friend's club night in a few weeks which equals a woohoo and a mild bit of argh! I've never djed before, so I'm going to have a lesson on Thursday night. I think beatmatching and mixing might still be a bit out of my league, but hopefully I can manage to get everyone on the dancefloor. Rather than having a Cascada moment. Eeek!

Red shoes, no knickers.

Such is the life of a part time employee. Today I have largely failed at applying for any of the jobs that have found their way into my inbox and instead have watched an absurd amount of Sugar Rush. Which, while it didn't make me want to be a lesbian, did leave me wishing I still tarted up for a night out. So clearly I tried to recreate my teenage dreams by schlepping on some high heels and a slick of Russian Red, and voila. Results shown above. I feel that the grey t-shirt and distinct lack of tan really take the look to the next level.

I really need a life.

This little piggy went to market.

Oh dear, just when things seemed to be going so well, I have been struck down with suspected swine flu. Being confined to my bed, I am ever more thankful for my shiny new macbook. I've spent the best part of this week catching up on Gossip Girl (Blair and Chuck forever!), searching for random things on Spotify resulting in a bad rap, HOTEL MOTEL HOLIDAY IIIIIINNNNNNN scenario, and of course, watching all the Snog Marry Avoid BBC Iplayer has on offer. It is a guilty pleasure that will not quit, but I refuse to be ashamed. Tide marks be gone, natural beauty rules!

Did You Miss Me?

Just passing through as always, but this time its clearly to show off. This is me celebrating the end of the internship, by dressing up and getting papped by the Daily Mail standing next to the legendary Alex James. What the photo doesn't show you is that my right arm has sneakly snuck round his back. Whoopsie! I had gone over to say thanks for the fabulous show they had put on in Hyde Park the week before, and was thrilled by how charming he was about it all. Totally starstruck!

Was a great way to say goodbye to my (hopefully) final stint of free labour, as who else can say that they got to hang out with Kanyeezy and Pharrell at a work do. Quite.

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of may.

Ah, that line reminds me of playing the game on Encarta. Endless hours of strange snippets of knowledge. Perhaps if the internet hadn't have come along, I'd have become a pub quiz genius thanks to that fabulous thing.
But it did, and therefore I found a new love. And new ways to procrastinate. But oh, isn't this Jonathan Saunders dress just lovely. Its up on The Outnet for half its original retail price, but at £300 it is still more than this lowly intern can afford. However, if you do get paid to shift your arse out of bed and commute with people who like to read the Metro so much, they don't mind if they fall on you, disturbing your precious sleep as you sail through Dollis Hill, then please, go purchase here.
Oh yes, the blog neglect continues as work asked me to stay on for an extra month, which is very exciting and flattering, but sadly takes me no closer to my goal of actually being able to afford anything. My one extravagance this week was an oatmeal and raisin cookie. For £1.21. Is that really what 10 seconds of mild enjoyment costs these days? Actually, don't answer that.
