Happy Two Thousand and Ten

This year I fully intend to get myself a new 'proper' job. Which will mean I will hopefully have many more pennies to spend on fabulous things. So clearly I'll be needing something to hold them in. Particularly as I managed to pull the zip off my purse about a month ago and have been searching for its replacement ever since. A harder task than you might imagine, since I'm apparently very fussy about how I want to cart around my dollar. This little coin purse looks great, as its made entirely of leather, and apparently is big enough to fit in cards, but also small enough to fit in your pocket. A must, since I've never been a full on wallet girl.

You can buy me one online at Pret a Portobello (which has a lovely little sale on now too).

From Marni With Love.

Forgive me for the cheese on toast title, but I've spent the last few Sunday afternoons curled up in a hungover ball on JDCs lap watching old Bond movies.

How gorgeous are these? They remind me of the D&G ribbon/bows/broches belt that has been spotted in every editorial under the sun recenly. Such a simple diy idea, which will allow me to wear all my charity shop broch bling at once. I went through a phase of picking up anything shiny I could lay my hands on in the Sue Ryder shop in Bemondsey. Shiny things make me very happy.

In other news. Today was Mother's day, so we spent the afternoon rummaging through the racks at the 'Frock Me' vintage fashion fair, where I walked away with a very pretty pink sheer dress with silver diamante detailing. Photos to follow I'm sure. I just need to get a pretty slip to go under it, as I'm hoping the thick black tights will be banished from my daily wear as the weather hots up. But then, this is England and while we do love to talk about the weather, things never really do go to plan!

Right, its 21:54, which is far too late for me to be up on a schoolnight. An old friend is starting as an intern for the other Director tomorrow, so I need to be on form to show her the ropes (and at least get up early enough to fix my wayward fringe...)

Black Plastic Touching Your Plastic - What I Wore to the Club.

What I wore to go drink too much and dance my socks off at Black Plastic last night.
Shrug: Ricky
Dress: Downstairs concession in Topshop, handprinted design.
Leggings: French Connection
Boots: Peacocks
Bag: Used to belong to my Grandma
I like it even more now because I found an invite in it last night inviting her to a swimwear preview in May 1991. I liked that, because it meant that she actually used the handbag, and after spending the last few weeks clearing out Gpa's house after it flooded, its nice to actually have a physical reminder of them both, rather than just relying on memories. Particularly when it is a great bag.
You will also note I didn't quite stick to my no new highstreet clothes rule. Willpower is clearly not my strong point.
