Lick my battery. What I Wore For Dinner.

I clearly need to practice full body self timer shots. This is what I wore to go and have dinner at a friends house. An attempt to get out of my all back loop and make my best attempt at a lumberjack shirt, without, you know, actually wearing one!
Shirt - Moschino
Red Double U-Neck Vest - Urban Outfitters
Jeans - Levis
Boots - Peacocks

Just go with it.

Can you my darling, can you picture this?

Needless to say, I think its totally bangin' High fashion. White trash. Perfection. Long live the Queen.

Black Plastic Touching Your Plastic - What I Wore to the Club.

What I wore to go drink too much and dance my socks off at Black Plastic last night.
Shrug: Ricky
Dress: Downstairs concession in Topshop, handprinted design.
Leggings: French Connection
Boots: Peacocks
Bag: Used to belong to my Grandma
I like it even more now because I found an invite in it last night inviting her to a swimwear preview in May 1991. I liked that, because it meant that she actually used the handbag, and after spending the last few weeks clearing out Gpa's house after it flooded, its nice to actually have a physical reminder of them both, rather than just relying on memories. Particularly when it is a great bag.
You will also note I didn't quite stick to my no new highstreet clothes rule. Willpower is clearly not my strong point.

She uses tangerines.

I'm completely in love with this neon hair print tunic from the SS/09 MM6 collection from Masion Martin Margiela. Simply stunning. Just a shame that looking out the window right now, I can't imagine England ever being warm enough to wear it so nonchalantly!

15012009 - This is my face.

I figured it was about time for a little 'rip it up and start again', show off. The vest started off life as a fairly boring AA Tank top, which showed a rather unreasonable amount of side-boob. I therefore shortened the straps, added on the lace sleeves, and began to bling it up. My favourite parts are the lace flowers to one side with sequin inserts, and the beading round the back of the neck. It was very easy to do, and kept my from obsessivley checking my email all afternoon. Come on NPG job. I want you!

130109 - Shiny Happy Feet!

Unfortunately my week didn't start out quite as I'd hoped. The agency interview went great, the Lady who interviewed me turned out to have been at my primary school so all nerves were instantly banished. However, when I turned up at my temping job, I was told I wasn't needed and that I should go home, and in the afternoon was called to be told they had no more work for me. I allowed myself a momentary wallow (and a little screaming session in my car when I found out I'd lost one of my favourite earrings), but have signed myself up for another role starting tomorrow. It is still only temporary, but doesn't require the use of public transport, getting up before its light or wearing a uniform. So perhaps they did me a favour.

There are more important things in life anyways, such as shoes! Shiny shoes! Above is my Chrismukkah present to myself. A lovely pair of supershiny black Gucci flats, purchased for a bragainous price in the Selfridges sale. It took me under five minutes to snap them up, love at first sight! This year I intend to try and steer clear of highstreet bling, and will try and opt for classic, well made purchases. Hopefully when my job situation becomes more stable, I will be able to start adding further to my collection, but I don't think this was a bad start!

To see:

= a really great end to a really crappy week!

So after work on Friday, I slinked over to Jo Cliche's where I applied a generous amount of Russian Red to my lips, while trying not to let her tigercats too close to my newly shredded tee, inspiration courtesty of Childhood Flames. She has a great tutorial on how to make your own up on her blog.

We braved the cold to go and watch Peaches dj at Circus, held at Last Days of Decadence, Shoreditch. It was a great night, just the right number of fashion fags, drag queens and the cutest indie boys. Dancing with Peaches while holding her hand over the dj booth was probably the biggest highlight for me!

Even though its edging ever closer to the end of the weekend now, I find myself strangely looking forward to next week. I have an interview at an agency tomorrow which specialises in creative jobs, and have sent off cv's for two potential gallery assistant roles. Fingers crossed!

New year, new bras.

A quiet workplace with superfast broadband is a dangerous thing. I have just ordered these two lovelies from the Bravissimo sale, justifying the purchase of the pink one with the sensible nude choice.

Perky boobage will be mine once more!
